All our artists live and work, in, or in the many villages which surround, the
beautiful Russian city of St Petersburg.
We have both women and men painting our matryoshka, with ages ranging from 20 to 83. Each artist has been apprenticed in the art of matryoshka painting for at least four years, and are exceptionally proficient in the master craft of hand painting Russian nesting dolls. Many artists gather together to paint in a social group, whereas others prefer to paint from within their own homes. These photographs show three popular, and well known artists. |
